Confidence

Many people think of confidence as something that one either has or doesn't have, but it is actually a skill that can be and should be cultivated.

An exercise I often suggest to clients is to write five things they love about themselves every day. Another way to build confidence is to sit down and write a long list of your positive traits, talents and gifts and to reflect on them for a while, appreciating all that you are and all that you have to offer.

Oftentimes people focus too much on their perceived weaknesses, sometimes in an attempt to perfect themselves, or out of habit or external influences they've taken on. This overly critical focus diminishes our confidence.

Regularly and consistently appreciating our gifts and strengths as well as speaking kindly and lovingly to ourselves cultivates confidence that is unshakable.
